Last night several members of Chardon High School graduates who now attend Ohio University held a candlelight vigil for the victims of the shooting. There was a great turnout, as over 100 students showed up to show support. It was extremely touching to see how close of a community these students hold even after they've moved on to college. My thoughts go out to all those affected by this horrible tragedy.

(And no that's not a real baby)
Every December I look forward to documenting my sister Annie's regional Irish Dance Competition, the Southern Regional Oireachtas. This competition qualifies dancers for the world and national competitions. She dances in both a solo competition and in teams with her school, Glor Na Daire.
It's been fantastic to shoot this ongoing project and be there to support my sister and help out during this crazy weekend. This year she placed 34th in her competition and is going to nationals!

This was my place story for Picture Story class this quarter. Sikorski's Riverway Cafe is located in Syracuse, Ohio and run by Mark Sikorski. It is a local favorite around the broader area and everybody who dines there pretty much knows everybody, it was such a nice community to work in.

The Appalachian Hell Betties, founded by Jessica Beckford, are a group of extremely hard working women. As Athens first and only roller derby team, they have made a name for themselves by holding fundraisers and practicing as much as they can until they compete in their first bout which is coming up in a couple of months. I started working on this story as a freshman and it was a fantastic learning experience. I am so grateful for all the kindness and access they gave me in the months I spent with them. These are a few singles from the project, I'm working on a more final edit that will be posted later.

Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Union on October 24, 2011. I had a lot of fun shooting this, considering it's one of my favorite movies. The show is put on yearly by the very talented Lost Flamingo Company, which is also the only student run drama organization on campus.

I'm finally breaking out of my no blogging streak that has consumed me for the past couple of months.
Starting with the Miss Ohio Pageant that me and Susannah Kay ventured to in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 15, 2011. I have to admit I had some fun playing paparazzi for the day.
