Hey y'all! I'm in the process of moving my blog over to my website - lauramcdermott.net

However, this blog will still remain as an archive.

Here are a few photos from the recent winter - first some from a neighborhood walk and then some from trip to Stroud's Run with my wonderful friends

This little blog post is dedicated to my sister Annie, who is competing at the Nationals Competition in Chicago for Irish Step Dancing today. She works so hard and is so great at everything she does, and I know she is going to dance great this weekend. Here's some shots of practicing the previous day (yes we do have a dance stage in our garage).

So it's been a while! I decided to turn my summer insomnia into some work time. Here's some images as a result of arriving a day early for a shoot and not wanting to put my trip out to Vinton County a waste. Here's some friends I met out fishing on an overcast day, just hanging out and having fun.

Hello everyone! I never officially announced that I have a website now.
It's lauramcdermott.net, and I hope you will check it out! Critiques and feedback is always welcomed.

(By the way, a big shout out to Sam Saccone, an OU graduate who designed a super easy to use and amazing portfolio site which I am proud to show my work on. Check out his site here for more info - http://samexhibit.com/)

This is probably the only blog post in my life that will be only words, and no pictures.
Here is my update before I break this phenomenon and go back to what I do best:
I am currently in Spring quarter, taking an Audio/Video class and Soul of Athens, which are taking up most of my time, but I'm super excited about them.

Anyway, thank you for looking! Keep checking for updates and photos.

I was lucky enough to spend the day following around my sister's school of Irish dance, Glor Na Daire. I followed them around as they walked in the parade in downtown Charleston, as they danced in five different pubs, and also danced in a retirement home.

By the end of the day we were all exhausted, especially the dancers, but it was still so fun. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Last night several members of Chardon High School graduates who now attend Ohio University held a candlelight vigil for the victims of the shooting. There was a great turnout, as over 100 students showed up to show support. It was extremely touching to see how close of a community these students hold even after they've moved on to college. My thoughts go out to all those affected by this horrible tragedy.
